Job summary

CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions Local seeks a Building Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across buildings, systems, and equipment. Working under limited supervision, you will apply a range of trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience and may require certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or refrigeration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or trade school diploma with 4 years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred.
• Additional certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or refrigeration systems.
• Ability to interpret instructions, write routine reports, and respond to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Comply with regulations, codes, and safety directives for building operations.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC and plumbing to ensure proper operation and conditions.
• Oversee work by outside contractors for landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance; maintain records.
• Estimate time and materials; order supplies as needed.
• Maintain energy management to minimize operating costs.
• Maintain lighting systems and perform related trades as required.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and coordinate additional help.
• Additional tasks may be required.
