Job summary

CBRE Building Engineer role focuses on complex preventive maintenance and repair of buildings, systems, and grounds. Under limited supervision, you will monitor operations across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other trades to support client environments.

You will oversee external contractors, manage work orders, and maintain energy efficiency programs while upholding safety standards and regulatory requirements. A relevant diploma and experience, plus CFC certification, are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred.
• Additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems advantageous.
• Basic computer skills; experience with work order systems (ESS) and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Comply with regulations, codes, governmental directives and safety policies.
• Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Oversee and inspect work by outside contractors for landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance; keep maintenance records.
• Review work orders, estimate time/materials and order supplies.
• Maintain an energy management program to minimize operating costs.
• Maintain lighting systems and handle related repairs.
• Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly as needed; assist locksmith tasks.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and coordinate additional help as needed.
• Additional tasks may be required.
