Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer in Miami, FL to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role may include supervising maintenance staff and coordinating with contractors.

Required are 5+ years of trade experience, appropriate licenses, and strong knowledge of building systems. The position may involve extended shifts, on-call duties, and travel between properties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating MEP systems.
• Valid licenses or permits as required (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician, Steam Engineer).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the buildings.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and assign/monitor activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance: change filters, lubricate motors, replace lamps/ballasts/fixtures, inspect belts, bearings, and shafts.
• Recommend improvements to PM program and maintain building-specific procedures.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and technicians; maintain inventory.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns; compile and submit monthly reports to management.
• Complete safety trainings and comply with dress code and company directives.
