Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Indiana to build and maintain relationships with local contractors and builders. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage the existing job, and grow the customer base through visits and ongoing communication.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, providing material takeoffs, and coordinating with yards and management. A commission-based structure offers unlimited earning potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each sold job and the ongoing relationship with the customer.
• Collect and update information on customers’ product use and trends.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules.
• Apply proven sales strategies and follow through to maximize commissions.
