Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, then manage the project and ongoing client relationships through completion.

The role emphasizes strong communication, planning, and the ability to read blueprints. Salary includes commission with no cap, offering significant growth potential within a multi-billion-dollar company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building materials outside sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.

Responsibilities

• Find and complete sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each sold job and related relationship from start to finish.
• Visit job sites as needed, maintain schedules and communicate with internal teams.
• Collect and keep up to date information on customers’ product use and trends.
