Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Building Engineer in Annapolis, MD to handle preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings and systems. You will inspect HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and manage grounds while directing technicians and contractors as needed.

The role requires a strong knowledge of building automation, energy management, and safety compliance, with a minimum of 3 years in maintenance and a high school diploma or GED. Overtime and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of related experience or trade school training.
• Minimum of 3 years building maintenance experience.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade as required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical and building automation systems.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and operate related tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, systems and grounds.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing and ensure equipment operates within design specs.
• Document maintenance and repair work; lead on assigned projects with contractors as needed.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and coordinate with others as required.
• Maintain energy management practices to minimize operating costs.
• Support lighting maintenance and other building system tasks.
