Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in Lanham, MD for a third-shift, on-site role. You will oversee complex preventive maintenance and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems, ensuring optimal operation and client space readiness.

The role requires strong knowledge of building systems, energy management, and supervisory experience. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant trade experience, with licenses as applicable.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience and/or trade school training required.
• Five years of building maintenance experience preferred.
• Licenses/permits for trades may be required (e.g., refrigeration, boiler, electrical).
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, and building automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review daily work orders and assign tasks.
• Oversee and inspect engineering staff work.
• Maintain energy management programs to minimize operating costs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Ensure systems meet design specifications and environmental requirements.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate additional support as needed.
• Maintain inventory and procure materials as required.
