Job summary

Transwestern seeks a Building Engineer for its Houston properties to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and building operations. The role covers HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and grounds upkeep to ensure asset performance.

You will inspect systems, coordinate with technicians or contractors, respond to emergencies, and uphold energy management practices to control costs while maintaining safe, compliant facilities for tenants and clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience or trade school training.
• At least 3 years building maintenance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Appropriate trade license/permit as required by local codes.
• Proficiency with energy management systems and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
• Lead repairs and coordinate with technicians or contractors on projects.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and summon assistance as needed.
• Maintain energy management practices to minimize operating costs.
• Keep maintenance records and report on system performance.
• Maintain lighting systems, terminations, and related controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
