Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Building Engineer in Minneapolis, MN to operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across commercial properties. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, rounds, fire/life safety checks, and basic repairs while ensuring safety and compliance with codes.

The role demands 5–10 years of building systems experience, relevant licenses, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of related work experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (Journeyman/Master Electrician, etc.).
• Knowledge of energy management systems and building operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s).
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps and air distribution systems.
• Monitor and adjust mechanical equipment, controls, valves, and thermostats.
• Inspect engine rooms and back-up systems, fire pumps and generators as directed.
• Document activities and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations per NFPA and company standards.
