Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Fredericksburg, VA seeks a Building Enclosure Project Associate to support field investigations, testing, and reporting within our Mid-Atlantic Building Science & Infrastructure team.

You will work with experienced consultants on building envelope performance, oversee site observations, develop testing protocols, and contribute to project documentation and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of building enclosure consulting, field investigations, testing or forensic assessments.
• Licenses or certifications such as PE, RA, IIBEC, or BECxP are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform building science and infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting.
• Site observations of roofing and building enclosure systems.
• Interpret drawings and assist CAD work as needed.
• Develop testing protocols and interpret results with recommended actions.
• Support forensic assessments, commissioning, and enclosure investigations.
• Assist with design reviews and unit submittals.
• Maintain awareness of IBC, ASHRAE, ASTM, and CSI standards.
