Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Building Enclosure Assistant Staff Associate for its Mid-Atlantic Building Science + Infrastructure team. You will support enclosure consulting projects, gain hands-on field experience, and develop skills in testing, analysis, and report preparation.

You will work with experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate building envelope performance and support construction quality across diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Engineering degrees in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, or NCARB eligibility.
• Certifications such as EIT or IIBEC are preferred depending on testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform building science and infrastructure related testing and consulting services.
• Assist with specialized building enclosure testing.
• Document QA observations and prepare field reports.
• Demonstrate knowledge of IBC and local building codes related to building enclosure.
• Interact with staff and participate in project meetings; interface with site personnel daily.
• Develop writing skills and assist in report drafting under supervision.
