Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Chantilly, VA seeks a Building Enclosure Assistant Staff Associate to support building enclosure projects, gain field experience, and participate in testing, investigations, and report preparation with a collaborative team.

You’ll work with senior staff on project teams, attend meetings, and develop foundational skills in building science and infrastructure consulting while growing in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 0-2 years of related experience is preferred.
• Certifications such as EIT or IIBEC are advantageous depending on testing performed.

Responsibilities

• Perform building science & infrastructure related testing and consulting services.
• Assist with specialized building enclosure testing.
• Clearly document quality assurance observations and field reports.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of IBC and local building codes related to enclosure.
• Interact and collaborate with staff on various projects.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Interface with contractors and site personnel daily.
• Keep supervisor informed of changing site conditions and testing requests.
• Prioritize tasks to satisfy project requirements with supervisor guidance.
• Develop basic technical writing skills and assist in report production.
• Work with senior staff to relate field observations to findings in reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
