Job summary

Harris in Fargo, ND is seeking a Building Automation Project Sales Representative to develop revenue from new and existing clients by delivering retrofit and modernization solutions for building automation. You will manage relationships, survey customer needs, interpret drawings, and prepare proposals that reduce operating costs.

Ideal candidates have HVAC/building automation knowledge, strong communication, and experience in creating financial justifications for energy-saving projects.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in construction sciences, HVAC, or related field, or equivalent journeyman experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical components.
• 2+ years of experience with customer relationship development/maintenance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
• Ability to prepare financial justification for solutions including an understanding of energy savings.

Responsibilities

• Develop revenue from sales activities for building automation projects.
• Survey and identify customer needs; translate into customized solutions.
• Create proposals and estimates based on drawings and specs.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers.
• Cross-sell and upsell controls, service, and mechanical work within your region.
• Prepare financial justifications including energy savings.
