Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting is seeking a Building Automation Lead Field Technician to oversee BAS field teams on data center projects. You will install and wire BAS controls, lead startup and commissioning, and coordinate with PMs, engineers and vendors to ensure system performance meets specifications.

The role demands hands‑on expertise in HVAC/BAS, Niagara‑based products, and strong communication skills for on‑site leadership and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline.
• Plus five years hands‑on BAS installation, testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Niagara based products is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 75% to project locations in the US.

Responsibilities

• Install and coordinate BAS/HVAC controls systems, manage subcontractors and site logistics.
• Assist startup, commissioning, testing and closeout activities with project teams.
• Provide project reporting and regular updates to clients and management.
• Support estimating, bid walks and engineering surveys for retrofit projects.
• Ensure QA/QC and documentation for as‑built conditions.
