Job summary

Siemens invites talented students to join our Building Automation Systems Specialist Internship in Chantilly, VA. You will spend most of your time on job sites with experienced technicians, learning HVAC automation installation, programming, and servicing in commercial buildings.

You’ll also gain sales exposure by collaborating with the sales team and rotating through service operations to understand long-term maintenance and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year technical program in HVAC/building automation.
• Available for 40 hours per week for the 10-week program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites with experienced Siemens technicians learning installation, programming, and service of HVAC automation systems.
• Gain insight into how to engage with customers and design solutions that improve building performance and safety.
• Rotate through service and project delivery teams to support installation, maintenance and upgrades.
• Visit customer sites to troubleshoot HVAC and building automation systems and assist in commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in system drawings.
• Document service activities and explain system operations to customers; support upgrades when appropriate.
