Job summary

Siemens Smart Building Internship Program is seeking Smart Building Systems Specialist Interns based in the Milwaukee area. This 10-week internship combines hands-on field work with classroom instruction in HVAC controls and building automation.

Interns will spend 80% on job sites with experienced technicians, 10% with sales teams to learn customer engagement, and 10% in project and service operations supporting installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pursuing or completed 2-year technical college program in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, or related field.
• Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks (May–July or June–August).
• Willing to work onsite in Milwaukee area; no relocation stipend.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time on job sites learning installation, programming, and servicing HVAC automation systems.
• Rotations include sales exposure and understanding how building solutions are designed and delivered.
• Support service operations from installation through long-term maintenance and upgrades.
• Visit customer sites with technicians to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to resolve discrepancies in drawings or execution.
• Document service activities and communicate system operations clearly to customers; suggest upgrades when appropriate.
