Job summary

George’s Breakfast and Brunch in Chandler is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead our busy breakfast and brunch kitchen. This full-time, onsite role blends hands-on cooking with team leadership and operational ownership, guiding service across peak hours and ensuring consistent quality in a laid-back atmosphere.

As Kitchen Manager you will schedule staff, supervise prep, manage inventory, and uphold food safety standards while collaborating with front-of-house to deliver fast, friendly service.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of kitchen supervisory or lead cook experience in a fast-paced breakfast/brunch or casual dining environment.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to train, motivate, and evaluate team members.
• Food safety certification or food handler permit (ServSafe or equivalent) and working knowledge of sanitation standards.
• Strong organizational skills, basic math for inventory and cost control, and familiarity with scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach kitchen staff during morning and weekend service to maintain speed, quality, and a positive team environment.
• Create and manage weekly schedules to meet labor targets and cover service peaks.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation, and portion control to ensure menu standards and consistency.
• Manage inventory, place orders, and control food costs through waste reduction and vendor communication.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and local health regulations; maintain cleanliness and organized workstations.
• Conduct opening and closing checklists, equipment checks, and basic maintenance coordination.
• Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to resolve guest issues, optimize workflows, and support smooth service transitions.
