Job summary

AECOM Transit is seeking a Design Manager (BRT) to lead the design of Bus Rapid Transit projects from planning through final design. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and provides project leadership in a hybrid East Coast office setting.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 8+ years in transportation design, and strong skills in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation. Candidates should be ready to drive business development and mentor rising engineers within the DCS group.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Professional Engineering license required.
Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or ORD.
Bus Rapid Transit and/or Light Rail Transit design experience.
US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Serve as team lead, project manager, or discipline lead on BRT planning, preliminary, and final design.
Coordinate with multi-discipline design engineers and technicians.
Develop construction cost estimates and schedules.
Prepare technical specifications and design calculations.
Perform QA/QC reviews of designs and drawings.
Support business development and client coordination.
Mentor entry-level engineers and manage tasks to meet budget.
