Job summary

AECOM Corporation is seeking a Transit Design Manager (BRT) to lead the design and delivery of Bus Rapid Transit projects. The role requires coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, preparing design deliverables, and supporting business development across East Region offices.

The position is hybrid, with 2–3 days in the office, and involves managing design work from planning through PS&E while mentoring junior staff. A PE license and BRT/LRT experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineering license.
• Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or Power GeoPak or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• Bus Rapid Transit and/or Light Rail Transit (LRT) design experience.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as AECOM team lead, project manager or discipline lead on planning and design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.
• Oversee multidisciplinary teams delivering PS&E packages and construction drawings.
• Develop construction cost estimates and schedules to meet project requirements.
• Prepare technical specification sections and perform QC on calculations and drawings.
• Mentor entry‑level engineers and coordinate with internal teams and clients.
