Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Structural Bridge Technical Manager in Kansas City to grow as a technical leader while remaining deeply engaged in bridge engineering. The role focuses on mentoring staff, directing complex designs, and advancing technical practices across multiple regions.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in structural engineering with a transportation focus, a PE license, and strong knowledge of applicable codes; MicroStation experience is required, with 3D bridge modeling desirable.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) required.
• PE License required.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in structural engineering with a transportation focus.
• DOT experience preferred.
• Experience with MicroStation is required; 3D bridge modeling is highly desirable.
• Experience with Construction Engineering services is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and direct the advancement of the technical skills of staff while executing projects.
• Manage technical elements of a project, including assessing analyses needed and practical approaches (software, design assumptions).
• Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design; ensure completeness of design details.
• Communicate technical progress and issues to the Project Manager promptly and continuously.
• Adhere to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking.
• Contribute to other project work as a technical specialist or advisor.
• Provide input into the growth of the practice.
• Work toward becoming a leading subject matter expert on targeted elements within the discipline.
