Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Structural-Bridge Technical Manager to lead and direct project teams in planning and design of transportation structures. The role combines self-performance with mentorship and technical guidance, fostering growth of the IL Structural group.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple bridge projects, mentor staff, and apply advanced knowledge of codes and software to deliver high-quality engineering documents.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) required; Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural) required.
• IL SE license required.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in structural engineering with a transportation focus.
• IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT experience preferred.
• Experience with MicroStation and 3D bridge modeling is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and direct the advancement of the technical skills of staff while executing projects.
• Manage technical elements of a project, including assessing analyses and practical design approaches.
• Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design with complete design details.
• Communicate technical progress and issues to Project Manager promptly and continuously.
• Adhere to internal quality control, documentation, and project tracking procedures.
• Contribute as a technical specialist or advisor and support practice growth.
