Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in Pennsylvania. You will lead inspection projects, mentor junior engineers, and help advance field and design work.

This role blends field and office work with travel. You will perform structural engineering tasks, develop plans using AutoCAD, and contribute to safety and quality in major transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification through FHWA training or PennDOT equivalent.
• Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) through PennDOT. Certification must be current.
• 5–10 years of experience in bridge, tunnel or ancillary inspection or related work.
• Engineer in Training Certification (PE preferred).
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and applications.
• Interest in structures/ transportation and desire to advance skills in WSP projects.
• Ability to perform field work incl. heights, weather, and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Work with our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on a variety of inspection projects.
• Work as a Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
• Develop plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
• Guide junior team members and provide leadership.
• Support project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Contribute to cost proposals and scope of work documents.
• Maintain project documentation and stay current with engineering practices.
