Job summary

WSP seeks a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, Senior Structural Engineer in Washington, DC to lead our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team. You will perform professional structural engineering work, inspections, and assist with load ratings and AutoCAD plans.

The role balances field site visits (50%) with office tasks in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will guide junior engineers, work cross-functionally, and stay current with structural engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• NCBI certification current and FHWA-approved training completed.
• 5–10 years of bridge/tunnel or related infrastructure experience.
• Engineering-in-Training Certification (PE preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional teams.
• Willing to work field and office in alternating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
• Serve as Team Leader for Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary inspections.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Help develop bridge & tunnel load ratings and related analyses.
• Assist with AutoCAD plans/sketches and drawings.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
