Job summary

WSP is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in Washington, D.C. at 80- M Street. The role blends field inspections with leadership responsibilities across bridge and tunnel projects.

You will guide entry-level engineers, perform structural engineering tasks, and contribute to load ratings and plans using AutoCAD, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to shape communities and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification current.
• 5–10 years in bridge/tunnel or related infrastructure work.
• Engineer In Training Certification (PE preferred).
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and project application.

Responsibilities

• Work with Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
• Lead Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary Inspections as Team Leader.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
• Develop plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project work.
• Guide and mentor entry-level engineers.
• Support project documentation and research activities.
• Remain current in structural engineering techniques.
