Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Deputy Project Manager to support its growing Bridge Inspection Practice across the Washington DC, Herndon VA, Hanover MD, and Baltimore MD regions. You will lead multi‑discipline teams on large projects, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver safe, durable bridge solutions for our clients.

You will apply your civil engineering background, PE licensure in MD/DC/VA, and 10+ years of bridge inspection experience to supervise field work,

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer licensure in MD, DC, and VA.
• 10+ years of bridge inspection experience.
• Experience managing bridge inspection projects.
• Completed NHI Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges course.
• Completed additional NHI courses (e.g., NSTM, LRFR and Scour).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently with QA/QC.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive leadership for the structural engineering discipline and ensure project deliverables.
• Review permits, plans, specifications, and contracts for compliance with regulations and standards.
• Lead large-scale, complex projects, manage budgets, track hours and expenses, and supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Develop business in the assigned geography for building and infrastructure work.
• Lead contract negotiations, presentations, and client meetings.
• Support long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Structural Engineering work.
• Ensure profitable project performance and successful project completion within area.
• Mentor staff and provide leadership to assigned personnel.
• Keep up with latest structural engineering techniques and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
