Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to lead complex bridge projects and guide next-generation engineers. This role sits in CDI’s Structures/Bridge Group, coordinating with transportation, site, and survey teams to deliver safe, cost-effective designs.

The candidate will manage scopes and budgets, sign/seal where required, and collaborate with clients and officials. A PE license and IL licensure are preferred; travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering (a plus but not required).
• Registered PE.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure (preferred qualification).

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Signing/sealing work as required.
• Analyzing and designing transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structure foundations.
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Structural Service Leadership, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
