Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to lead bridge and structure projects across multiple offices, including Effingham, IL, Collinsville, IL, and other locations.

The role involves directing design teams, coordinating with clients and officials, and signing/sealing as required. You will manage budgets, pursue proposals, and collaborate with leaders to deliver transportation and site development solutions while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering (a plus but not required).
• Registered PE license.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure preferred.
• Team Leader Bridge Inspection certification preferred.
• 10+ years of bridge design experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Signing/sealing work as required.
• Analyzing and designing transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structure foundations.
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Structural Service Leadership, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
