Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking independent contractors to join a network of professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear alterations. You will work on gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom outfits, handling hems, bustles, zippers, and fit adjustments.

You'll conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly, delivering high-quality finishing while maintaining an organized workspace for seamless fittings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency
• Professional communication and customer service

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
