Job summary

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MVA) is seeking an experienced MVA Assistant Branch Manager II to lead operations with a focus on delivering premier customer service and innovative improvements.

Ideal candidates will have three or more years of leadership experience, two years in government, and strong people skills. This role involves coordinating staffing, directing staff, and acting as a change agent within a union environment.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of leadership experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Two years of experience working in the State or Federal Government is preferred.
• Experience supervising operations of large teams and coordinating staffing levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager in planning, leading, directing, organizing, and overseeing branch operations, audits, compliance, and premier customer service.
• Work with employees to solve problems for customers.
• Plan, assign, schedule, and evaluate work of subordinate supervisors, driver license agents, customer agents, maintenance, and support staff.
• Act as a change agent within the MVA and develop workflow efficiencies.
• Work in a union environment.
