Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Manager on Duty at the Escondido YMCA to oversee branch operations, safety, and staff supervision during assigned shifts. You will manage opening/closing, supervise staff and volunteers, monitor security, and ensure members and rental groups have safe access.

Responsibilities include handling member inquiries, processing transactions per branch policies, conducting end-of-shift procedures, and serving as first point of contact for membership concerns.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with handling cash.
• Must supervise and motivate membership staff.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls courteously and route to appropriate departments.
• Process transactions per branch policies.
• Monitor facility access and member check-ins.
• Maintain knowledge of branch programs to assist members.
• Complete end-of-shift procedures and balance transactions.
• Provide branch tours and communicate information to members.
• Verify membership/program data for quality assurance.
• Open/close branch and monitor security during shifts.
• Respond to security alarms and facility incidents.
• Lead incident responses as needed.
