Job summary

The Cross Island YMCA in Queens is seeking a part-time Manager on Duty (MOD) to lead the branch operations and deliver a high-quality member experience. You will handle emergencies, supervise staff during shifts, conduct facility rounds, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

The role requires CPR/AED certification, a high school diploma, and completion of MOD training within three months of hire; prior knowledge of emergency procedures is essential. YMCA membership benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Must complete MOD training within three months of hire.
• Knowledge of the center’s emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with members and staff, address questions and concerns, and conduct tours as needed.
• Resolve conflicts as needed.
• Handle emergency situations per emergency procedures.
• Notify Executive Director or Building Manager in unusual circumstances.
• Perform facility rounds every 45 minutes to check on activities.
• Fill out incident reports if first responder during the shift.
• Proactively address safety hazards.
• Complete and submit MOD reports within 24 hours of shift.
