Job summary

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) seeks a dynamic Branch Manager to lead the Thompson Library in Little Rock. This full-time leadership role focuses on creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for staff and patrons while delivering excellent public service.

You will supervise daily operations, hire and train staff, manage scheduling and evaluations, and oversee budget-related cash handling and project initiatives, all while engaging with the local community.

Qualifications

• MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program, or current progress toward MLS.
• Bachelor's degree plus at least three years of related experience and/or training.
• Previous management or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all branch operations and daily service delivery.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; manage scheduling.
• Monitor performance and drive improvements across the branch.
• Handle budget-related cash handling and project leadership responsibilities.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and active community engagement.
