Job summary

Eastern Bank is hiring a Branch Assistant Manager I in Massachusetts to support daily operations and sales initiatives. You will work with the Branch Manager to develop the team, drive sales, and ensure high service levels for customers.

The role requires strong communication, relationship building, and leadership potential. You will coach staff on incentives, handle branch oversight tasks, and participate in performance reviews as directed.

Qualifications

• Strong problem resolution skills and professionalism are required.
• Basic business acumen and the ability to build relationships across the bank.
• Ability to learn products quickly and support sales/branch goals.
• Understanding of retail banking and compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily management of a banking office under supervisor.
• Achieve personal sales goals and coach platform staff toward branch goals.
• Understand major aspects of incentive plans and business loans to coach staff.
• Oversee daily branch operations including overdraft and vault management.
• Ensure audit/compliance adherence and manage customer service quality.
• Act as manager on duty when Branch Manager is away; apply policy when needed.
• Prepare and deliver performance appraisals as directed.
• Gain understanding of teller functions and cross-train accordingly.
