Job summary

Eastern Bank is seeking a Branch Assistant Manager I to help lead daily branch operations and drive sales and service excellence across Region 5 locations, including Westford, Chelmsford, Lowell, Wilmington, Dracut, Newburyport, and more.

In collaboration with the Branch Manager, you will coach staff, manage daily branch activities, and uphold audit and compliance standards while ensuring superior customer service and operations effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Strong problem resolution skills.
• Basic business acumen and professionalism.
• Clear communication to convey information accurately.
• Ability to build relationships across the organization.
• Must understand bank products and services as part of management.
• Understand the banking big picture and profitability concepts.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years retail banking experience preferred.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience required; retail banking preferred.
• History of solid sales and service success.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily branch management under the Branch Manager.
• Achieve personal sales goals and guide staff toward branch goals.
• Coach staff on sales, service, and incentive plans.
• Understand teller function and cash handling basics.
• Ensure branch compliance with audits and policies.
• Manage branch operations and schedules; open/close procedures.
• Act as manager on duty when Branch Manager is away.
• Prepare performance appraisals as directed.
