Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller to support branch staff across a designated area, delivering exceptional service while handling transactions with accuracy and guiding customers through digital options.

You will travel between branches, balance cash, log customer interactions, and assist with AML/KYC duties, always following policy, risk controls, and the bank's commitment to a welcoming, inclusive experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience.
• Ability to travel between branches on an as-needed basis.
• Proven verbal communication skills.
• Proven interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to customer service standards and provide a differentiated experience by understanding customer needs and delivering solutions.
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations; identify self-service opportunities.
• Engage in lobby management, greet customers, and address needs proactively.
• Balance and process customer transactions accurately following Bank Policy.
• Take ownership of escalated account services issues until resolution; log complaints in the system.
• Transition sales opportunities and introduce customers to appropriate banking partners.
• Complete branch-related operational activities (e.g., cash ordering, vault, ATM, wires).
• Complete consumer AML/BSA/KYC activities.
• Adhere to compliance and risk controls and promote a welcoming M&T Bank environment.
