Job summary

Wolverine Advanced Materials is seeking a NVH Co-Op in North America to support the Brake NVH group, under a Sr. NVH Application Engineer. You will gain hands-on experience with brake noise testing, data management, and multi-disciplinary product development.

The role emphasizes FRF measurements, SAE J3001 testing, data analysis, and collaboration across engineering teams in a lab/test-cell setting. On-site in Dearborn, Michigan area with opportunities to contribute to new damping materials

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Interest in NVH, acoustics, vibration, or structural dynamics; coursework or project experience is a plus.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office; exposure to data acquisition or signal-processing software (e.g., LMS, MATLAB) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills; able to work with engineers across a mixed-seniority team.
On-site in a lab and test-cell environment.

Responsibilities

Perform FRF measurements on brake components for modal characterization and squeal investigations.
Conduct SAE J3001 testing and assist with test setup, data collection, and post-processing.
Update and manage material data sheets, ensuring accuracy and version control across the material library.
Support Application Engineers with day-to-day testing, data analysis, and program deliverables.
Prepare NVH testing summaries and reports for internal reviews and customer-facing documentation.
Contribute to innovation and new product development projects, including testing of new shim and damping material concepts.
