Job summary

HL Mando America Corp in Novi, MI is seeking an NVH Engineer to lead brake NVH development, collaborating with Design, Applications, CAE, and Program management to analyze status and implement countermeasures for brake calipers and foundation brake components.

The role requires hands-on use of NVH measurement equipment and analysis tools, performing FRF, modal, and transient analyses, and coordinating lab maintenance and documentation. Domestic and occasional international travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 2–20+ years automotive experience in product development with braking/suspension focus preferred.
• Strong NVH knowledge; friction material development a plus.
• Familiar with NVH measurement equipment and software.
• Able to analyze data and connect theory to practical problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead NVH development trade-off analyses with multifunctional teams.
• Use NVH measurement equipment and analysis tools to assess performance and propose improvements.
• Perform FRF, modal, ODS, and transient analyses to understand dynamic characteristics.
• Investigate sources of NVH and propose countermeasures.
• Collaborate with design and applications engineers on new techniques and methodologies.
• Maintain NVH lab equipment, calibration, and documentation; consolidate test plans.
