Job summary

Gucci in New York (Manhasset area) seeks an Operations Controller to oversee stockroom efficiency and accurate inventory. You will support management in daily operations, troubleshoot issues across operations, service, facilities, and compliance, and help deliver a seamless client experience in a luxury retail setting.

You will work with store leadership to ensure precise stock processes, proper documentation, and timely merchandise movement.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role in fashion retail or luxury
• Strong ethics, professionalism, and integrity to inspire trust and teamwork
• Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory efficiently
• Attention to detail and accuracy in stock management processes
• Knowledge of stock control procedures and inventory management software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Good communication skills with store management and sales teams
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends/holidays
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role (lifting, climbing, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Oversee shipping and receiving and report issues to Store Director or Operations Manager
• Ensure timely movement of merchandise following procedures including transfers, RTVs and damages
• Identify and resolve operational problems quickly with management
• Maintain clear inventory and operations documentation
• Submit tax-exempt forms as required
• Communicate discrepancies to management
• Process repairs and damages per guidelines
• Support physical maintenance of the boutique
• Place orders for office/store supplies
• Ensure compliance with company standards and security guidelines
• Perform store cycle counts and reconciliations as directed
