Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support reviews of environmental studies and conduct traffic operations analyses using HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, and other modeling tools. You will collect data, perform field work, and prepare technical memoranda and reports.

Qualifications

• A B.S. in civil engineering with one year of full-time civil engineering experience.
• A B.S. in civil engineering plus a M.S. in civil engineering.
• Driver's license valid in New York preferred and must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic operations analyses, develop recommendations to reduce congestion, and improve mobility.
• Collect and evaluate transportation data, conduct field investigations, and assess conditions at intersections and pedestrian facilities.
• Review environmental studies (CEQR/SEQR/NEPA) and prepare technical memoranda, reports, and presentations.
