Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Civil Engineer 2 - Environmental Review Borough Lead within the Traffic Engineering & Planning unit to manage complex transportation and environmental studies. You will supervise staff, coordinate interagency efforts, and deliver high‑quality analyses for city mobility projects.

Responsibilities include CEQR/SEQR/NEPA work, preparation of reports and presentations, and collaboration with other agencies.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• A valid New York State Professional Engineer license; current NY registration.
• Masters degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental review projects and CEQR/SEQR/NEPA analyses.
• Supervise technical staff and coordinate interagency efforts.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and graphic materials for department studies.
• Conduct traffic operation and safety studies and recommend improvements.
• Engage with external agencies and participate in advisory committee meetings.
• Perform field work as needed.
