Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. The role offers competitive base pay, strong benefits, and retention incentives; assignments span multiple duty locations across the United States.

Roles include enforcing immigration and customs laws, conducting patrols, and using a range of assets to deter illegal activity while providing public safety. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of general work experience AND college education. This will be calculated using your resume and transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting physical evidence and conducting patrols along international boundaries and coastal waterways.
