Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. The BPA role offers pathway levels from GL-5 to GS-12 with strict qualification requirements and incentives.

Responsibilities include border surveillance, questioning suspected violators, and enforcing immigration and customs laws across multiple duty locations. Selected applicants receive competitive base pay, robust federal benefits, and potential recruitment incentives.

Formación

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and make sound decisions under stress.
• Education substitution: a bachelor’s degree qualifies via a full four-year program.
• Combination of general work experience and education may also qualify.

Responsabilidades

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations.
• Maintain surveillance and use available assets to apprehend violators near borders.
• Interpret tracks and evidence to determine eligibility and violations.
• Perform checks and patrol various locations including farms, traffic, and transit points.
• Patrol international boundaries using a variety of government vehicles and assets.
