U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in the United States. The roles span entry to mid-level career paths with education or relevant public safety experience qualifying you for GL-5, GL-7, GL-9, or GS‑11 grades and promotion to GS-12.

Base pay varies by grade with strong federal benefits and potential incentives. Selected BPAs receive a base salary and comprehensive health, dental and other insurance, plus generous leave and a Thrift Savings Plan retirement

Qualificações

One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to handle pressure and learn regulations.
Bachelor's degree OR successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field OR combination of experience and education.
Note: Special or graduate education may qualify for higher grades; previous law enforcement experience can advance grade level.

Responsabilidades

Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents.
Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
Interpreting tracks, marks, and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using government assets.
