Job summary

Books-A-Million in Scranton is seeking a Bookseller who delivers friendly, knowledgeable customer service and helps shoppers find books and other merchandise. You will greet customers, answer questions, operate the register, stock shelves, and keep the sales floor organized while promoting store programs and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Applicants should be at least 16, be able to stand for long periods, and enjoy working in a team-focused retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 or older.
• Successful completion of required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with questions and orders; operate the cash register.
• Sell products and promote POS programs and memberships.
• Balance cash drawer per shift according to policy.
• Stock shelves and merchandise to plan.
• Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Assist in other departments and receive shipments.
• Protect assets by following loss-prevention standards.
