Job summary

Books-A-Million is hiring a friendly Bookseller to deliver exceptional customer service and assist customers with questions and orders in a fast-paced bookstore environment. The role involves greeting customers, promoting memberships and programs, stocking shelves, and maintaining store appearance while upholding loss prevention standards and engaging in inventory tasks.

Candidates should be 16 years or older, pass background screenings, and have strong communication and computer/cashier skills.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older
• Successful completion of required background screenings
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (preferred)
• Ability to multi-task and assist customers effectively

Responsibilities

• Provides customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting customers with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
• Sales of all products and promotion of membership programs and other company-sponsored programs.
• Balances cash drawer following each register shift within allowed variances.
• Delivers and places product on the sales floor according to merchandising guidelines.
• Recovers the sales floor during shifts, including stocking and housekeeping tasks.
• Protects company assets by adhering to loss prevention standards.
• Assists in other departments and with inventory and shipments as needed.
