Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a Bookseller who delivers exceptional customer service and expert knowledge of books and merchandise. The role involves greeting customers, assisting with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering to create an outstanding shopping experience.

The position requires standing for extended periods, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and friendly teamwork with various store programs and promotions. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Previous retail sales experience.
• Computer and cash register skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers, assists with questions and orders, and handles cashiering efficiently.
• Promotes store programs and promotions including memberships and educator programs.
• Balances cash drawer following each shift per Loss Prevention Policy.
• Delivers and stocks products on the sales floor per merchandising guidelines.
• Maintains clean and organized shelves; supports with inventory and housekeeping.
• Adheres to loss prevention standards and maintains integrity in all transactions.
• Performs other duties including assisting in other departments as needed.
