Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver bookkeeping, payroll and customer service. You will help support our brand purpose and inspire communities with accurate financial support.

The role focuses on posting transactions, reconciling accounts, payroll processing, and clear communication with clients and vendors. Candidates should have 1–3 years bookkeeping experience and familiarity with Xero.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Discretion with confidential information and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
