Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll processing, and strong client service. You will be part of a team supporting financial accuracy across ledgers and statements, while assisting in client retention and growth opportunities.

The role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, knowledge of GAAP, and the ability to obtain required National certifications. Proficiency with Xero is preferred, and high confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National Bookkeeping and Payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience and knowledge of GAAP/GAAP procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts regularly.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.
• Support client retention and growth opportunities.
