Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver reliable bookkeeping, payroll processing, and exceptional client service. The role involves posting transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating financial statements to support client needs.

Qualified candidates have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, familiarity with GAAP, and the ability to obtain national certifications. Xero experience is preferred and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping certifications from the NBA, or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
