Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and exceptional client service. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, process payroll, and prepare tax documents, while supporting client retention and growth opportunities.

The role requires 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience, knowledge of GAAP, and proficiency with Xero. High school diploma or NBA bookkeeping certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
